On the flight from...Just in from the Papl plane: <br /><br />On the flight from Rome to Krakow, Poland, where he will join hundreds of thousands of young pilgrims attending World Youth Day, Pope Francis told journalists “the world is at war” after a priest was brutally murdered during mass in France Tuesday. <br />“This is war. The world has been at world for a while now, in stages. We had the war of [19]14, then the war in [19]39-45, and now this one. It’s not an organic war, perhaps. It’s organized, but not organic. But it’s war,” the Pope said on the plane. “I am not talking about a religious war. All religions preach peace. It’s the others who want war, is that clear?” <br />The Pope also said that Francois Hollande called him to express his condolescences. “I want to thank all of those who offered their sympathy, especially France’s President, who talked to me over the phone like a brother”<br />Francis then spoke more widely about the persecution of Christians around the world: “This priest, who died as he was leading churchgoers to prayer, is one.
